DESTINATION IMPORT GUIDE / Brazil
Brazil
The Brazilian importer must confirm animal-health authorisation with MAPA and whether IBAMA environmental controls apply to the exact live species. Import licensing, official veterinary certification and Vigiagro inspection may apply.
BEFORE ORDERING
Three checks before a quotation.
- 01Confirm the species and intended use with MAPA before contracting.
- 02Check IBAMA controls and CITES status separately.
- 03Arrange the import licence, certificate wording and authorised entry point before dispatch.
DOCUMENT PACK
Prepare these records.
- Importer identity, registration and broker details required by the destination
- Scientific-name species list, quantities, source and intended use
- Import permit or written admissibility confirmation where required
- Official aquatic-animal health certificate with the destination declarations
- Commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill and customs classification
- CITES or national wildlife permits when the exact taxon is regulated
ARRIVAL & CLEARANCE
Entry is a separate decision.
The importer and broker should coordinate customs and Vigiagro inspection. An environmental permission does not replace animal-health or customs requirements.
