Fish & freshwater shrimp collections in preparation.

RESPONSIBLE BREEDING / OUR APPROACH

Care is not a detail.
It is the foundation.

Our founding breeding plans cover ornamental fish and freshwater ornamental shrimp, with a special focus on species native to Indonesia. We are developing species-specific care rather than assuming the same conditions suit them all.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

LIMNIC is in preparation. The commitments below guide the standards we are developing; they are not claims of an operating, certified, or independently audited programme.

01 / SIX AREAS OF COMMITMENTFROM PRINCIPLE TO PRACTICE

Concept studies

Thoughtful standards.
Built with intention.

Our programme is being developed around six areas of care.

01

Animal welfare

Begin with the needs of each species.

We intend to place species-appropriate care at the centre of our breeding programme, from the environment we provide to the way each fish or shrimp is handled.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Develop husbandry plans, handling guidance, and welfare review criteria for each confirmed species.

02

Health & water quality

Make observation part of care.

Our planned approach brings daily observation, water-quality records, and clear responses to health concerns into one documented care system.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Define monitoring routines, record templates, and access to qualified aquatic animal health support.

03

Breeding & genetics

Select with purpose. Keep the story.

We aim to develop breeding records that connect each line with its origin, parentage where known, and breeding history, while keeping welfare central to selection.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Establish breeding objectives, identification methods, and a practical system for recording line history.

04

Biosecurity

Build care into every movement.

We plan to develop procedures for incoming fish and shrimp, equipment hygiene, and movement between systems, with responsibilities clearly assigned.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Develop a facility-specific biosecurity plan, including quarantine arrangements and health-response procedures, with appropriate specialist input.

05

Biodiversity & sourcing

Respect the life beyond our facility.

Freshwater biodiversity is the foundation of LIMNIC. We intend to make sourcing decisions that are documented and consistent with our commitment to responsible aquaculture.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Confirm species identity, sourcing history, and applicable requirements before adding a species to the programme.

06

Packing & transport

Care should continue beyond the tank.

Our packaging direction is the beginning of a process that must also consider the animals, journey, receiving conditions, and communication with future partners.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Develop and validate packing methods and transport arrangements before offering a shipping service.

This is a statement of our intended approach, not a fish or shrimp care manual or veterinary protocol. Species-specific procedures will require appropriate review before use.

02 / ACCOUNTABILITYTRUST THROUGH CLARITY

Commitments first.
Evidence alongside.

As our operations develop, we intend to support our commitments with records and clearly defined procedures. We will distinguish what is planned, what is in use, and what has been independently verified.

RECORD

Know the history.

Develop records for origin, breeding, health observations, and care activities.

REVIEW

Learn from practice.

Review procedures with relevant expertise and refine them as evidence and experience grow.

COMMUNICATE

Make claims carefully.

Share confirmed information without presenting targets, concepts, or future plans as completed achievements.

03 / CARE IN TRANSITPACKAGING DIRECTION

Considered care.
Inside and out.

An insulated box is one component of a transport system. Materials, bagging, journey conditions, and species needs must be assessed together.

Materials, packing methods, transport arrangements, and destination requirements still need to be evaluated before shipping services can be offered.

THE LIMNIC COMMITMENT

Grow with care.
Earn trust over time.

We cultivate trust, quality, and a deeper appreciation for freshwater biodiversity.
