A live-animal order is not ready when payment is made. It is ready only when the exact species, lawful source, health conditions, permits, route, documents, and responsibilities are confirmed for one destination and one shipment.
01 / CHOOSE YOUR ROUTEBEFORE REQUESTING AVAILABILITY
B2B and B2C do not use the same import pathway.
B2B / COMMERCIAL
Importer, retailer, distributor, or wholesaler
Expect formal importer credentials, customs and wildlife declarations, commercial documents, health certification, an approved port or facility where required, and a broker or cargo agent experienced with live aquatic animals.
Recommended route for future wholesale consignments.
B2C / PRIVATE KEEPER
Personal or non-commercial purchase
Direct-to-consumer shipment is not automatically simpler. Personal allowances may apply only to accompanied baggage, not cargo; some countries still require permits, declarations, inspection, or a licensed importer.
If direct import is not permitted, buy through an authorised local importer or retailer.
02 / BUYER FILEPROVIDED OR CONFIRMED BY THE IMPORTER
What the buyer must establish.
The buyer or importer of record owns destination-country clearance. LIMNIC can provide export-side evidence, but cannot replace the buyer’s licence, local broker, customs account, or authority approval.
01
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
Species admissibility confirmation
Confirm the accepted scientific name, source, intended use, quantity, and whether the species is permitted at destination before requesting a quotation.
02
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
Importer registration or licence
Commercial buyers commonly need a registered importer, aquatic-animal or wildlife licence, approved premises, or a licensed broker. Requirements vary by country and shipment type.
03
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
Import permit or prior approval
Obtain any permit before LIMNIC books transport. A permit cannot normally be created after the animals have departed.
04
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
Health-certificate instructions
Send the exact destination-country certificate model, declarations, tests, and validity window required by the competent authority.
05
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
Customs and tax information
Provide the importer-of-record details, tax or customs number, broker contact, correct HS classification confirmation, and delivery airport.
06
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
CITES or wildlife permits
Required only when the exact taxon is listed or otherwise controlled. Both buyer and seller must verify current listings and national measures.
03 / LIMNIC FILEPREPARED BY THE SELLER / EXPORTER
What LIMNIC must confirm.
Documents are issued for a specific consignment. LIMNIC must not advertise a certificate, destination, or shipping promise until the relevant registration, inspection, and market-access pathway is genuinely available.
01
SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Business and activity authorisation
Maintain an Indonesian legal business identity, NIB, the correct risk-based business licences, and any sector approvals applicable to breeding and trading the taxa concerned.
02
SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Lawful-origin and traceability file
Record scientific identity, captive-bred or other lawful source, breeder or supplier, locality where relevant, batch, health observations, and movement history.
03
SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Species-by-destination review
Check Indonesian prohibitions and restrictions through current official systems, then verify CITES and the importing authority’s species and health rules.
04
SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Fish health certification
Apply to Badan Karantina Indonesia, present the consignment and supporting documents, and complete inspection, testing, treatment, or other measures required before a Health Certificate can be issued.
05
SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Customs export filing
Prepare the Pemberitahuan Ekspor Barang (PEB) and obtain the customs response required for loading, including the Nota Pelayanan Ekspor (NPE) where applicable.
06
SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Shipment document pack
Issue a commercial invoice and packing list; coordinate the air waybill, permits, original health documents, labels, and any certificate of origin requested for the destination or transaction.
04 / SHIPMENT GATE
No booking before all five gates pass.
01Species and captive line verified
02Legal export and import pathway confirmed
03Buyer permit and certificate instructions received
04Animal health, packing, route, and arrival plan approved
05Commercial terms, risk transfer, payment, and claims procedure agreed in writing
Rules change and can differ by species, disease susceptibility, origin, intended use, shipment size, and port. The importing authority—not LIMNIC’s website—makes the final decision.
Australia
Live ornamental fish imports require an Australian import permit. Only permitted species from approved countries are eligible. Before applying, the importer must establish or have access to a class 7.1 approved arrangement site. Verify the current BICON conditions for the exact shipment. These fish requirements do not establish eligibility for ornamental shrimp.
The Brazilian importer must confirm animal-health authorisation with MAPA and whether IBAMA environmental controls apply to the exact live species. Import licensing, official veterinary certification and Vigiagro inspection may apply.
Canada’s Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) is the transaction-specific reference. Requirements depend on species susceptibility, origin, end use and province; an aquatic-animal health permit may be required.
The Chinese importer must verify that the species, Indonesian origin and intended use have an authorised quarantine pathway. Entry quarantine approval, official certification, designated entry arrangements and inspection may be required.
EU entry conditions depend on the species, health status, purpose and harmonised animal-health rules. TRACES NT, an official certificate and entry through an eligible Border Control Post may apply.
Importers should confirm the exact live-fish pathway with the Fish Health Inspectorate. Health certification, IPAFFS pre-notification and an approved Border Control Post may be required.
The importer must check animal-health, endangered-species and cargo requirements for the exact species. CITES-listed specimens require the applicable Hong Kong licence.
Japan applies animal-quarantine controls to designated aquatic animals. Applicability depends on the taxon and intended use, so the importer must confirm eligibility before shipment.
The importer must check Department of Fisheries licensing and MAQIS permit, inspection and quarantine requirements. Conditions vary by species, purpose, origin and entry point.
Only eligible ornamental fish and aquatic animals may enter under the current Import Health Standard. Import permits, official certification and post-arrival quarantine in an approved transitional facility may apply.
The importer must confirm whether the species is subject to aquatic-animal disease quarantine. Import notification, an official health certificate and NFQS inspection may apply.
Commercial ornamental-fish importers require the relevant AVS licence, approved premises and consignment clearance. Personal allowances are different and should not be assumed for cargo.
Importing live aquatic animals requires advance confirmation with the Department of Fisheries. Import permission, aquatic-animal health documentation, quarantine inspection and species controls may apply.
The UAE importer should obtain the applicable MOCCAE permit before shipment and provide the required official veterinary health certificate. Species and CITES controls must be checked separately.
Commercial wildlife importers normally require a USFWS import/export licence and must file Form 3-177. Designated-port, inspection, injurious-wildlife, ESA, CITES and state rules may apply to the exact species.
France applies the European Union animal-health framework and French controls. The importer must confirm the exact species and purpose, the applicable EU certificate, TRACES NT pre-notification and an eligible Border Control Post.
Germany applies the European Union animal-health framework. The importer must coordinate with the competent authority in the destination Land and confirm certification, TRACES NT and Border Control Post requirements for the exact consignment.
The Indian importer must verify the current DGFT import policy and aquatic-animal health pathway for the exact species and use. An import authorisation, official health certificate, advance quarantine arrangements and wildlife controls may apply.
The Russian importer must verify current Eurasian Economic Union and Russian veterinary requirements for the exact aquatic species, Indonesian origin and purpose. Import authorisation, approved establishment conditions, an official veterinary certificate and border veterinary control may apply.
Spain applies the European Union animal-health framework and Spanish border controls. The importer must confirm certification, TRACES NT pre-notification and an eligible Border Control Post for the exact species, origin and purpose.
