DESTINATION IMPORT GUIDE / Germany

Germany

Germany applies the European Union animal-health framework. The importer must coordinate with the competent authority in the destination Land and confirm certification, TRACES NT and Border Control Post requirements for the exact consignment.

BEFORE ORDERING

Three checks before a quotation.

  1. 01Confirm the EU animal-health category, purpose and certificate model.
  2. 02Identify the competent authority in the German Land of destination.
  3. 03Arrange TRACES NT pre-notification and an eligible Border Control Post where required.

DOCUMENT PACK

Prepare these records.

  • Importer identity, registration and broker details required by the destination
  • Scientific-name species list, quantities, source and intended use
  • Import permit or written admissibility confirmation where required
  • Official aquatic-animal health certificate with the destination declarations
  • Commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill and customs classification
  • CITES or national wildlife permits when the exact taxon is regulated

ARRIVAL & CLEARANCE

Entry is a separate decision.

The Border Control Post and destination authority may perform official controls. Customs, tax, CITES and invasive-alien-species rules are separate.
