The Indian importer must verify the current DGFT import policy and aquatic-animal health pathway for the exact species and use. An import authorisation, official health certificate, advance quarantine arrangements and wildlife controls may apply.
BEFORE ORDERING
Three checks before a quotation.
- 01Confirm the tariff line and current DGFT policy with the importer or customs broker.
- 02Obtain written requirements from the aquatic quarantine authority for the exact taxon and origin.
- 03Arrange any import authorisation, official health certificate and quarantine booking before dispatch.
DOCUMENT PACK
Prepare these records.
- Importer identity, registration and broker details required by the destination
- Scientific-name species list, quantities, source and intended use
- Import permit or written admissibility confirmation where required
- Official aquatic-animal health certificate with the destination declarations
- Commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill and customs classification
- CITES or national wildlife permits when the exact taxon is regulated
ARRIVAL & CLEARANCE
Entry is a separate decision.
The consignment may be examined, sampled, quarantined or refused if the approved conditions are not met. Customs, wildlife and CITES clearance remain separate.
