Commercial wildlife importers normally require a USFWS import/export licence and must file Form 3-177. Designated-port, inspection, injurious-wildlife, ESA, CITES and state rules may apply to the exact species.
BEFORE ORDERING
Three checks before a quotation.
- 01Check the scientific name against federal injurious-wildlife, ESA and CITES controls.
- 02Confirm whether a commercial wildlife licence and designated wildlife port are required.
- 03File Form 3-177 and coordinate inspection before arrival.
DOCUMENT PACK
Prepare these records.
- Importer identity, registration and broker details required by the destination
- Scientific-name species list, quantities, source and intended use
- Import permit or written admissibility confirmation where required
- Official aquatic-animal health certificate with the destination declarations
- Commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill and customs classification
- CITES or national wildlife permits when the exact taxon is regulated
ARRIVAL & CLEARANCE
Entry is a separate decision.
USFWS wildlife declaration and inspection are separate from Customs and Border Protection, agriculture, carrier and state requirements.
