Only eligible ornamental fish and aquatic animals may enter under the current Import Health Standard. Import permits, official certification and post-arrival quarantine in an approved transitional facility may apply.
BEFORE ORDERING
Three checks before a quotation.
- 01Confirm the species appears on the eligible list and meets the Import Health Standard.
- 02Reserve an MPI-approved transitional facility before dispatch where required.
- 03Obtain the permit and certificate with the prescribed declarations and tests.
DOCUMENT PACK
Prepare these records.
- Importer identity, registration and broker details required by the destination
- Scientific-name species list, quantities, source and intended use
- Import permit or written admissibility confirmation where required
- Official aquatic-animal health certificate with the destination declarations
- Commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill and customs classification
- CITES or national wildlife permits when the exact taxon is regulated
ARRIVAL & CLEARANCE
Entry is a separate decision.
MPI may inspect the consignment and direct quarantine, testing or treatment. Release occurs only after all biosecurity conditions are satisfied.
