About this image

Illustrative or adapted specimen presentation. It is not a documentary photograph of LIMNIC stock, a voucher specimen or evidence of successful breeding.

Scientific references establish the profile’s research context; they do not by themselves establish image ownership or validate the depicted animal.

Identity and origin

Origin
Streams of the Lake Poso catchment, Sulawesi, Indonesia
Identity
Described freshwater species; riverine

A riverine shrimp with variable transparent yellow-brown colouring. Records labelled C. cf. acutirostris outside the Poso catchment are not automatically assigned to this species.

Habitat and care

Stream vegetation and roots; not a Lake Poso open-water species. Habitat and identity reference

Match a documented stream locality rather than applying an ancient-lake mineral recipe. Use a mature, well-oxygenated system and verify feeding and reproduction from a traceable captive colony. No universal temperature or pH range is established here.

Habitat

Size and measurement
A source-checked adult total length has not yet been added to this profile. Confirm it before choosing aquarium dimensions.
Planning context
The cited source supports this broad habitat classification. A verified husbandry protocol is not yet available here; do not treat natural habitat observations as an aquarium recipe.

Before choosing this species

Care-planning notes. Confirm exact requirements for the species and source population.

  • Confirm the adult size and social behaviour of the exact species before planning its aquarium.
  • Establish biological filtration and stable water conditions before introducing animals.
  • Ask for locality, captive history and the actual animal’s feeding record; a catalogue image cannot provide these.

Evidence record

Conservation record: Vulnerable (VU); assessment year 2011. Conservation source record. This retained reference is an index or secondary record; the direct assessment and date require verification. Check for a newer assessment before making conservation or sourcing decisions.

Catalogue inclusion confirms a research record, not current stock, legal export, or destination-country import permission.
