About this image

Illustrative or adapted specimen presentation. It is not a documentary photograph of LIMNIC stock, a voucher specimen or evidence of successful breeding.

Scientific references establish the profile’s research context; they do not by themselves establish image ownership or validate the depicted animal.

Identity and origin

Origin
Indonesian islands within a broad Indo-Pacific range
Identity
Small amphidromous fan shrimp

A compact filter feeder for high-flow biotope aquaria. Its larvae disperse through estuarine or marine water, so locality and life-cycle limitations must be explicit.

A habitat for filter feeding

Care-planning notes. Confirm exact requirements for the species and source population.

  • Provide water movement and stable perches where feeding fans can intercept suspended food.
  • A visually clean aquarium can still be food-poor: observe feeding and body condition rather than relying on leftover food.
  • Confirm larval-development requirements separately from adult care; freshwater adults do not imply simple freshwater breeding.
